The Central Market of San Pedro is the main and oldest market of supplies of the city of Cusco, Peru, and is located in its historical center in front of the Plazoleta San Pedro and Santa Clara street whose current route corresponds to the old path
Our visit starts with one of the most traditional neighbors of the city San Cristobal, once there we will have a panoramic and breathtaking view of the city. After that we will head towards San Pedro market, the oldest and more important one, feature by its picturesque and vibrant colors along the products that are offered, where we will get an idea of the lifestyle of the local people. As we progress in our visit, then we will pass by Qoricancha known as the Sun Temple was also the most important temple in the ancients Incas time, built on the finest stonework and decorated with gold plates. Some chroniclers mention that its wealth was transferred to Cajamarca for the rescue of the Inca Atahualpa.
Later on its time to visit the San Blas renown as the neighbor of craftsmen, painters and sculptors, from there we will descend shortly until we arrived to Hatin Rumiyoc, one of many streets that encapsulates mysteries and myths, this street shelters the famous “12 angle rock”. We will continue our walk until we reach the Main Square and then visit the beautiful cathedral, a gothic, baroque and renaissance monument that keeps incalculable works of art.
