Today, we will pick you up at 4:30 am. We will departure from Cusco, passing by the villages of Izcuchaca and Limatambo until we reach the town of Mollepata (2900masl), our arrival is programed at 07:30 am, where we will have breakfast, be able to use the restrooms and make some last minute purchases that you may have forgotten. Another short drive awaits to take to the village of Challacancha (3380masl).
From there our adventure begins, approximately is 5 hours until we reach to the campsite at Soraypampa (3900masl), during the hike you will witness stunning Andean landscapes and from afar the snowcapped peak of Salkantay. Once we arrived our campsite, lunch will be ready and rest until it is time to ascend toward the Humantay Lake (4200masl), for about 1 hours and 20 min after, we will return to our campsite where we will enjoy of dinner and rest for next day adventure.
Today is consider the hardest walk of the trek, after breakfast we will start very early to continue with the hike, the morning will be adequate to avoid the sun and while we ascend will remain fresh until we reach the highest point the Salkantay Pass (4600masl). From here we will descend toward our campsite of Huayracmachay (3900masl), where will enjoy our delicious lunch and after a short break to recover energy to continue the descend to until we reach our campsite in Chaullay (2900masl), to finally rest and indulge on a well-deserved night of sleep.
After you have enjoyed breakfast we will continue our hike, this time we will enter into the humid forest of Cusco where we will be able to appreciate the different local plantation such as coffee, bromeliads, begonias, avocado, coca leaf and a wide fauna, here we will encounter lot of mosquitos and this part of the hike we will walk by the riverside descending until reaching Playa Sahuayaco (1900masl), where our delicious lunch is waiting for us. After lunch, we will take a transportation until we reach the Hydroelectric, during this part of the hike, we will walk along the train rails. Making stops in different points to appreciate on the scenery and impresssive waterfall that come from the glaciers. On our arrival to Aguas Calientes (2000masl) and then we will settle of our accommodation we will enjoy of our last dinner in a restaurant where our guide will organize everything for the following day.
Today early in the morning we will start with us ascending at 4:30 am toward the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu; where we will have a 2-hour guided visit. When finishing your guided visit there will be a free time to enjoy Machu Picchu at your leisure, returning to Aguas Calientes according to your train schedule. As a recommendation, you may have time to visit the hot spring in Aguas Calientes as well. We will then take the train to return to Ollantaytambo where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to the city of Cusco

NOTE: In case that a client is feeling ill and wish to return from the first campsite at Soraypamapa, the Company is not responsible for any refund or extra expenses incur in its return to Cusco; given them the option to meet the group in Aguas Calientes (the ongoing expenses are on the clients account).

Huayna Picchu Mountain has a steep and narrow path, in some part of the hike you il encounter stone stairs. The walk takes about 2 hours in total.
Machu Picchu Mountain, on the other hands is less steep and the walk is way longer taking approximately 4 hours in total.
